BEIJING, July 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Fengtao Software Inc., the leading multimedia software company in DVD, Blu-ray copy and video converters, has released 8.1.8.8 beta, an upgraded version of its all-in-one shareware suite for Mac OS X. Here is the news in detail.

DVDFab for Mac 8.1.8.8 Beta Rolled Out on June 30

Fengtao Software, on June 30, released an updated all-in-one software package for multimedia solutions, for Mac OS X. The program came out with new features to greatly improve each user's experience.

There are many new features in the new software. It was confirmed that in its Blu-ray Copy for Mac, DVDFab added support to backup Cinavia's Blu-ray disc for home Blu-ray players which do not detect Cinavia, aiming to build an all-inclusive set of Cinavia solutions. Next, the developers added a new feature to insert subtitle information into dvdfab_internal.log when converting a Blu-ray disc with Blu-ray Ripper for Mac software.

There have been many problems with the previous version that have now been fixed. The developers have successfully eliminated a 102 error that occurred when copying special Blu-ray discs; computers would freeze when copying a Blu-ray disc to a BD50 if "Remove HD audio" was enabled. Another error would occur when copying a Blu-ray disc to BD9/BD5 if "Convert DTS audio to AC3" was enabled. A 1010 error would occur when copying a Blu-ray disc to a Blu-ray SBS 3D in certain cases. These issues were all in the Blu-ray Copy for Mac section. Computers would also freeze in certain cases when converting a Blu-ray to M2TS file, but the problem was fixed in the Blu-ray Ripper for Mac sector. In the Blu-ray Creator for Mac segment, computers would also freeze at the beginning of the conversion but it has now been removed completely. General ways to avoid Task 1 Error=102

Task 1, Error=102 means that a reading problem appears during the copying process. The accessing process will most likely encounter this problem especially when the discs being copied are in very poor condition. Generally, in order to decrease the chances of it occurring, there are two solutions.

  1. Before copying, check the disc first to make sure it is dust or scratch free. It would be better to clean it, no matter how it looks on the surface. Also, don't forget to clean your drive as well - time spent on basic maintenance will save you much wear and tear during the following steps.
  2. Click the tick green icon at the top right corner of the DVDFab main interface, open the "Common Settings" panel, and then click on "Read", then select "ignore all the reading errors automatically"; or click on "Pathplayer", and disable it then copy the DVD again.
