Delta Green Building Exhibition Draws to a Close After Welcoming More than 7,000 Visitors

SHANGHAI, June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- From Le Grand Palais in Paris to the campus of Tsinghua University in Beijing, 'Delta Green Building Exhibition' attracted more than 7,000 visitors and received accolades from the public since opening on June 14 in Building A at the Academy of Arts and Design in Tsinghua University.

The nearly two-week long exhibition, which integrates international experiences and local practices in energy conservation and combines humanistic and technological features in architecture, was closed yesterday (June 26).

The choice of holding the event in Tsinghua University, a reputed establishment with more than 100 years of history, reflects Delta's aspiration to start the promotion of green buildings with students and schools, growing the low-carbon seed of energy conservation deep in the mind of our future generation.

Zhong Jishou, Director of China National Engineering Research Center for Human Settlements under China Architecture Design, said, "Delta has found a good way for the promotion of green architecture -- that is to start with education to provide valuable guidance to students."

Shi Dinghuan, former State Department counsellor and Chairman of China Renewable Energy Society (CRES) , said upon the visit, "The exhibition showcases Delta's efforts and achievement in advocating green architecture, and creates a great example on several fronts, including concept, technology innovation, and various business models."

More than 100 media outlets, including CCTV-4, People.cn, and Xinhuanet, attended the press conference on June 15 held for the exhibition. Impressed by the vivid presentations and delicately crafted models and videos, the journalists gave high praise to Delta's accomplishments in green buildings.

The Delta Foundation also invited students and teachers of related departments, such as architecture and power electronics, from Tsinghua University, Beijing University, and Beijing Jiaotong University to visit the exhibition. The students said they have gained understanding of the green architecture concept and the contribution of green buildings to energy conservation, aspiring to apply the energy-saving technology in their future work.

The technology and products displayed have also received acclaim from visitors from the architectural and industrial sectors. China Aerospace Construction Group's Chief Engineer Wang Yong expressed his acknowledgement and high praise for Delta's corporate culture and advanced green concept.

Visitors from the business of data center and mechanical electronics said they were previously unfamiliar with Delta's versatility, especially in the field of building automation. In light of the fact that buildings account for massive energy consumption, Delta's dedication in the promotion of green architecture stands out as an even more meaning undertaking.

Xu Hua, Chief Engineer at the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said that the exhibition presented a variety of green building technologies, providing valuable insight in both fields of design and implementation.

The event, in addition, leaves an unforgettable imprint on volunteers. Liu Chaochao, a volunteer guide from Delta's branch office in Chengdu, said the exhibition impacts him and his family who now have deeper understanding on the environmental concept.

Xu Yang, a student from Tsinghua's school of law, said that as many people are interested in green buildings, the show provides an opportunity to the public to actually witness the benefits of green buildings.
