Delta Named Top 10 Best CSR Foreign Companies and Invited to Initiate "Beijing Declaration 2015"

SHANGHAI, November 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Group has been named in the top 10 foreign enterprises index with the best corporate social responsibility (CSR) reputations in China in 2015, according to the "Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility (2015)". The company also ranks in the top 50 with the best CSR performances among the top 300 enterprises in Mainland China, which includes state-owned companies, privately-held companies, and foreign companies, and comes ahead of all the other Taiwanese enterprises in the CSR ranking. The research paper was released at the first China Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility Frontier held in Beijing on November 1, which was co-sponsored by the News Center of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), and the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Delta, dedicated to responsible operation as the company grows, was also invited to initiate the "2015 Beijing Declaration on Responsibility Sharing", taking the lead in the CSR development in China.

Delta, along with Samsung, Intel, and LG, has been selected in the top 10 foreign companies for the best CSR reputations. The selection of the 2015 top 100 foreign companies was based on the top 100 in the "2015 Fortune 500" which is ranked by global revenues. After removing the foreign companies that have no operations in Mainland China, the list of the top 100 foreign companies in Mainland China was finalized by adding the following non-Chinese companies on the Fortune ranking according to the depth, influence and brand awareness of their operations in China.

The electricity density (the amount of power used per productivity unit) at Delta's major production sites has decreased 50% in the past 5 years and Delta was the only company from greater China to be included to the Climate Performance Leadership Index (CPLI). In the next 5 years, Delta is seeking to actively engage itself in the "Commit to Action" program initiated by the CDP to reduce carbon emission, and is committed to further reducing power density by 30% before 2020 and implementing its brand promise "Smarter. Greener. Together." As Mainland China is one of the most important markets for manufacturing, R&D, and sales in Delta's global presence, Delta China will continue to pursue a high standard of corporate governance. By actively contributing to the community and promoting energy-saving initiatives, Delta strives to grow and prosper with all its partners.

Delta has published the group's CSR report every year since 2005 and established in 2014 a CSR committee for its China Region, which released the "2014 Social Responsibility Report of Delta China Region" in September this year. The report was written under the guidance of "CASS-CSR3.0" and "ISO 26000:2010--Guidance on social responsibility". According to the "Rating Criteria of CSR Report by Chinese Company (2014)", the report was rated 4.5 stars out of 5 stars by The Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Delta is also the first Taiwanese company to take the initiative to join the CRS report review and has received the highest score among the Taiwanese companies.

The first China Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility Frontier was attended by more than 200 participants, including CSR experts, academics, outstanding companies, and local and overseas media. Various CSR policies and achievements were discussed at the forum, and companies with the best CSR practices were honored. Charged with the promotion of CSR, the forum will continue to explore the direction and drive the development of CSR in China.

Adhering to the principle of openness and cooperation, the "2015 Beijing Declaration on Responsibility Sharing" seeks to align local and foreign enterprises, as well as social groups to create a CSR platform for open exchanges. The declaration's signing parties are committed to actively sharing with all stakeholders experiences on the management and implementation of CSR. With the wisdom and creativity of all parties involved, the declaration is expected to help further advance CSR development in Mainland China.

The "Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility" has been published yearly since 2005 by the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). By reviewing characteristics of various stages in the CSR development in Mainland China, it has introduced CSR index for Top 100 state-owned companies, Top 100 privately-owned companies, and Top 100 foreign companies, becoming the most influential and authoritative research in the field of CSR in Mainland China.
