eFuture Works With Microsoft to Provide Standardized POS-ERP System in China

BEIJING, July 29 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- eFuture Information Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: EFUT, "eFuture"), a leading provider of software and services in China's retail and consumer goods industries, announced today that it has entered into a strategic relationship with Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT, "Microsoft") to provide a standardized POS-ERP system for retailers in China. This system will integrate Microsoft Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 into eFuture's POS-ERP Store Operation System. Leveraging eFuture's nationwide retail customer base and Microsoft's worldwide reputation will allow eFuture to deliver a reliable and seamlessly integrated POS solution to companies throughout China.

The standardized POS-ERP system pairs eFuture's POS-ERP Store Operation System, a solution specifically designed to facilitate the efficient flow of goods, orders, information and cash in-store, with the familiarity and reliability of Microsoft's operating systems and technologies. The result is a low-cost, highly-secured data platform with service-oriented architecture ("SOA") for retailers throughout China. To ensure customer satisfaction and a smooth transition onto this embedded platform, Microsoft Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 operating system is equipped with flexible and customizable features that conform to customers' hardware requirements and has the ability to easily connect to peripherals and servers in order to work seamlessly with a broad range of applications.

During the past three months, eFuture commenced a pilot program of the embedded solution with a retailer in Hebei Province in northern China. Based on the success of this pilot effort, eFuture will invite additional clients to join throughout the duration of the pilot program.

Adam Yan, chairman and CEO of eFuture, said, "It is with great enthusiasm that I announce our strategic relationship with Microsoft, one of the world's most reputable and innovative software providers. This relationship further underscores the fact that our strong foothold within China's retail and consumer goods industry, access to over 1,000 retailers with more than 100,000 POS, extensive suite of products and localized customer service has helped us emerge as the partner of choice for leading global technology companies. In addition, our POS-ERP system can now be bundled with our Software-as-a-Service offering, helping to further expand our eServices business, a key component of our long-term growth strategy. I have the full confidence that the integrated offering of our POS-ERP Store Operation System, a platform optimized for efficient store and inventory management, and Windows Embedded POSReady 2009, a solution synonymous with flexibility, seamless connectivity, and reliability, will allow us to provide an even stronger product and service offering to the Chinese retail market."

"We are pleased to see our global partner ecosystem continue to expand rapidly with the participation of information technology leaders such as eFuture, which delivers software-plus-service solutions to businesses in the retail and consumer goods industries," said Ilya Bukshteyn, senior director, Microsoft Windows Embedded Marketing. "We are witnessing significant growth in China's retail market as businesses transition from transaction processing to enhanced customer service and user experiences to drive customer loyalty.
