EHANG Appoints Former Vice President of Microsoft Greater China as Chief Operating Officer

New management team positions the company for success as it continues to develop disruptive, innovative technology

SAN FRANCISCO, January 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EHANG, a leading intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle company, today announced that George Yan, Microsoft China's former Vice President and General Manager of Marketing and Operations, has joined EHANG as its Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Co-founder. George will be responsible for the operation and management of EHANG worldwide.

George has a long career in leading teams to develop groundbreaking new technology. George joined Microsoft in 2000 and served as lead project manager, group program manager and product unit manager for the Windows, Windows Server and Bing teams. In 2008, George and his team worked alongside Sugon and the Shanghai Supercomputer Center to successfully develop the Sugon 5000A. Today, the Sugon 5000A is one of the top 10 most powerful supercomputers in the world and has helped China to become the second country to develop tera-flop supercomputers, following the United States. Since 2011, George has served as Head of the Cloud & Enterprise business in Microsoft China and was responsible for building a new operating and development strategy for Microsoft Azure in China. His leadership also helped Microsoft to become the first global public cloud provider to have comprehensive cloud operations in China and oversaw cloud business bring in $100 million in income during its first year. In 2014, George served as Microsoft's Vice President and General Manager of Marketing and Operations (M&O) in Greater China, and was in charge of establishing and executing products and marketing strategy and business operations in the region.
