SHANGHAI, June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Formica Group, the global leader in surfacing decorative material, is pleased to announce a new collection of high pressure laminates and finishes in the Asia market. Launched under the theme Be Big, Be Bold, Be Beautiful, the new laminates tap into current design trends, offering architects, interior designers, manufacturers and fabricators a stylish range of 73 new decors, bringing up to 500 decorative laminate solutions.

Drawing on current design themes that utilize natural materials and textured surfaces, Formica has developed 17 new vintage woodgrain; 9 real scales look 180fxTM; 6 textile inspired patterns, 6 plain colors and 4 new finishes.

Vintage Woodgrains

Driven by the fashion for industrial design and nostalgic patterns, the new woodgrains collection combines timeless wood surfaces, including Vintage Elm, Natural Wahshed Maple, Oxidized Beamwood, with industrial processing to create retro design elements. The products are available to interpret classic styles across multiple applications -- with a nostalgic inspiration.

To support trendy industrial and urban aesthetics, Elemental Concrete, Concrete Formwood add a modern, tidy and sophisticated touch to interior; while Elemental Oxide mimic rusted, oxidized metals and the masculine beauty of rolled steel.

180fxTM Real Scales Look

180fxTM marks a revolution in surfacing with true-to-scale marble patterns and offers unmatched visual experiences for modern, sophisticated surfaces. Calacatta Marble captures the exquisite detail of the stone's fine translucency of intricate warm grey and soft taupe veining against striking white. These large scale laminates replicate the characteristics of natural stones perfectly and are versatile enough to pair with any interior design.

Textile Inspired Patterns

Authenticity and the return to essential and simple materials is one of the key trends in interior design. The Formica Collection puts the emphasis on fabric patterns. As a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to real fabric, Formica Textile Inspired Patterns offer surface designs emulating linens and twills with exquisite lines and shades. This collection is an exceptional design for today's interiors and offer more possibilities for modern decoration.

Plain Colors

The new Plain Colors inspired by pastels harness the poetic power in faded colors. This range of pure and updated basics brings a feminine and sophisticated touch to an interior. Also a very dark, almost black, deep blue Nocturne, and on-trend Denim, a beautiful representation of classic blue jeans, for a contemporary look. The laminates can be used in highly creative ways to exhibit playful and stylish spaces of the highest quality.

New Finishes

Replicating natural surfaces including stone, woods and fabric, new textures include Chalk, Linum, Natural Grain and Honed creating natural low gloss surfaces that bring laminates to life. Adding extra dimension to designs, the new finishes are available in a variety of Formica Laminates and provide a real experience through the sense of touch.

Offering vast potential for innovative and nostalgic interior applications, the new collection of laminates are ideally suited for decorating fashionable spaces including retail and hospitality environment, business areas, residential blocks, healthcare and education units.
