Fresenius Medical Care supports Chinese earthquake victims

Shanghai, China, June 10 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Fresenius Medical Care is offering its assistance to the earthquake victims in the Chinese province of Sichuan. In addition to significant humanitarian aid, the Company has donated a total of $1.1 million in both cash and material goods to help ease the suffering of those affected by the natural disaster. Fresenius Medical Care is providing medical equipment, services and reconstruction assistance to hospitals and aid organizations in the region.

Teams of Fresenius Medical Care employees have delivered, for example, dialysis machines for acute renal therapy to various hospitals in the Sichuan province. The teams, which consisted of logistics experts, technicians, technical engineers and clinical specialists, also supported the rescue operation through the installation and proper usage of the machines. Fresenius Medical Care China is also supporting various aid organizations such as the Hong Kong Kidney Foundation by arranging logistics and other services to ensure vital relief supplies reach hospitals on time.
