- Comprehensive visibility highly attractive to private, public and hybrid cloud customers requiring a single solution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the cloud monitoring solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes CopperEgg Corporation with the 2013 North America Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. Unlike competing solutions that mainly focus on monitoring a particular domain, CopperEgg's advanced comprehensive monitoring solution is unified across servers, applications and websites on a single SaaS platform, creating a huge draw among consumers. CopperEgg's monitoring solution's three main modules, server monitoring, website monitoring, and application metric monitoring, can be used in combination for a complete monitoring solution as well as in isolation for specific services.

CopperEgg server monitoring and website application monitoring track performance from inside the server and outside from the end user's perspective. CopperEgg also monitors custom metrics from Web servers, databases, and the client's own application performance metrics and displays the data in custom dashboards using a broad array of widgets delivered with the monitoring solution.

"While competing solutions deliver a monitoring solution for either public or private cloud, CopperEgg provides complete visibility across the cloud environment (private, public and hybrid cloud) through a single solution," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Swapnadeep Nayak.

The CopperEgg cloud monitoring platform is divided into three main layers of operations. The first layer comprises real-time data collection and data aggregation, wherein sub-minute measurements from the cloud infrastructure are captured and aggregated with an advanced time-series key value store. This collection layer also collects and stores historical information through the same purpose-built, NoSQL, distributed key value store and big data backend.

The second layer provides analytics, examination, and data correlation. It also delivers services such as alerts and notifications, plus usage-based accounting. The final layer drives user interface (UI) visibility, which helps in the representation of data to the users. This visibility layer presents real-time dashboards, historical reports, and detailed forensic data to the administrator for troubleshooting and analysis. It offers users the option to represent data in the form of real-time graphs and reports, alerts for particular issues, and dashboards for health and performance-based views of systems, Web applications, and services.

In addition to the best-of-breed, real-time architecture of the CopperEgg cloud monitoring platform, the company offers access to their RESTful application programming interface (API). Leveraging the API, users can tag their systems and create their own annotations for the purpose of recording configuration changes on individual systems. The API allows administrators to manage their product and insert and retrieve cloud performance data in and from the CopperEgg application.

"One of the biggest advantages of the CopperEgg Cloud monitoring solution is its subscription tiers that include a pay-as-you-go pricing model," noted Swapnadeep. "Competing solutions also offer pay-as-you-go models, but limit the features of the solution to base models."

CopperEgg offers full feature sets to the entire pricing model, but limits the number of objects managed. Further, as users auto-scale or have highly elastic services, CopperEgg facilitates the auto-addition of managed servers above the base levels with a pay-per-hour model, thus proving to be significantly cost-effective for clients with elastic needs.

With its advanced high-resolution visibility and its big data monitoring platform, the company has already penetrated segments ranging from enterprises, mobile applications, cloud hosting, and social media. Recently, CopperEgg also launched Mobile Apps for its cloud monitoring platform to make the most of the popularity of smart phones and tablets.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leveraging leading-edge technologies. The award recognizes the value-added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers customers, which, in turn, increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
