The 2012 GIL Awards will be presented during Frost & Sullivan's annual congress GIL 2012: Europe on 9th May in London

LONDON, April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Frost & Sullivan will be conferring its prestigious Growth, Innovation and Leadership (GIL) Awards on two of Britain's most eminent visionary innovators: Martha Lane Fox, the UK Government's Digital Champion, and David Bott, Director of Innovation Programmes, Technology Strategy Board, at this year's annual GIL 2012: Europe gathering on 9 May 2012.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan's GIL Global Community recognizes those individuals who over the course of their careers have raised the bar and excelled in the areas growth, innovation and leadership.  Past recipients of this prestigious award include Sir Richard Branson, Dr. Charles Roberts, Mitchell Baker, Judy Estrin, Mark Shuttleworth, Jim Basille, and Marc Benioff to name a few.

"Interestingly enough, not only this year's recipients exemplify the core values of our global community but are also pioneering a truly unique and innovative futuristic approach which seamlessly aligns with this year's theme of Visionary Innovation," says Brian Denker, Vice President & Global Head -Growth, Innovation and Leadership, Frost & Sullivan. "The achievements and efforts resulting from this year's recipients are proven testaments to the critical importance of seeking out the visionary innovator inside of ourselves as we continue our quest toward achieving excellence."

Martha Lane Fox co-founded travel and leisure website lastminute.com in 1998, took it public in 2000 and sold it in 2005. Since then, she has founded LuckyVoice.com a Karaoke business as well as Antigone.org.uk a grant giving foundation. She is currently the UK's Digital Champion and Chair of Go On UK, a new cross-sector partnership that has set itself the challenge to bring the benefits of the internet to every individual and every organisation in every community across the UK. Martha also chairs the Government Digital Service Advisory Board and sits on the Efficiency and Reform Board in the Cabinet office.

A polymer scientist by training, David Bott began his career developing polymer batteries and non-linear optics. He is now instrumental in shaping London's bid to take on Silicon Valley, overseeing a 2 million pound government funded contest to find the next Mark Zuckerberg in the capital.

The 2012 GIL Awards will be presented to Bott and Fox during Frost & Sullivan's annual congress GIL 2012: Europe - a powerful, one-day event that brings together a global network of today's best thinkers, visionaries and thought leaders. It will offer an opportunity for business leaders to fuel their creativity and gain access to best practices, tools and strategies that will drive growth and inspire innovation.
