Great Place to Work(R) Institute Announces the "2012 Best Companies to Work For(R) In Greater China" List

Workplace Research, Training and Consulting Organization Awards Greater China Best Companies to Work For®

SHANGHAI, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Place to Work® Institute, the leading global organization that creates workplace recognition rankings worldwide, held its inaugural Best Companies to Work For® in Greater China list award ceremony in Shanghai on March 21.

This is the first year Great Place to Work® Institute has published the list of the Best Companies to Work For® in the Greater China region. This publication is based on the results of the 2012 Chinese workplaces' culture research. Great Place to Work® is the only company that has a two-sided approach to understand workplace cultures: employee and manager. The employees' point of view is key during the assessment and scoring process. The employees survey named Trust Index© represents two-thirds of the final score to participate in the list. The other part of the score is obtained from the results of the Culture Audit© (questionnaire for companies that helps Great Place to Work® understand and evaluate the practices, policies and culture of a company) and the survey open-answers from employees.

"Greater China has been a long-awaited project to start by our Institute in the Asia Pacific region," said the Great Place to Work® in Greater China CEO, Mr. Jose Carlos Bezanilla. "Now that we've published our first list; the interaction with all the companies that participated regardless of their results, has been very revealing to us."

This year's list is the result of the research and assessment of 32 companies located in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and more than 60,000 employees surveyed.
