Global Sources' Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "Private Sourcing Events give buyers and suppliers an ideal platform for concentrated, quality exchange. In April alone, mainland China's exports soared 31 percent year-on-year to nearly US$120 billion. With trade on a big upswing, these face-to-face meetings help both buyers and sellers increase efficiency.

"Global Sources will continue to help its suppliers grow and stay profitable through more high-quality sourcing events in the months ahead. Private Sourcing Events, together with our online, trade show and print channels, aim to provide a complete solution for buyers seeking reliable suppliers in the recovering market."

One participating buyer, Merchandising Manager of Creata, Michael Zhang, said: "The Private Sourcing Events are very effective because they put us in individualized meetings with several different China suppliers. As the suppliers are pre-screened, quality risk is minimized. I find this kind of concentrated sourcing highly efficient in terms of time and cost. This gives us an advantage over competitors in the market."

Other buyers participating in the May and June events include Canadian Tire, Carrefour, Casino, El Corte Ingles, Office Depot, Otto International, RadioShack, Sears and Target Australia.

Suppliers also find the Private Sourcing Events beneficial. Director of the International Business Department of Shenzhen SDMC Microelectronics Co., Andy Pan, said: "Private Sourcing Events allow us to engage closely with buyers from around the world who want precisely the type of products that we make. It is a direct connection for immediate results."
