Halma Acquires Riester to Extend its Health and Analysis Product Range

SHANGHAI, China, Jan. 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Halma p.l.c., an international market leader in safety, health and sensor technology ( http://www.halma.cn ) has recently acquired German medical device manufacturer Rudolf Riester GmbH.

Riester, based in Jungingen, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of diagnostic medical devices for applications including ophthalmology, blood pressure measurement and ear, nose and throat diagnostics. Riester is an internationally recognised brand and generates over 90% of its revenue outside of Germany.

Commenting on the acquisition, Andrew Williams, Halma's Chief Executive, said, "Riester adds new products and sales channels to our existing Health Optics business, particularly in the medical doctor and practitioner market segment. The company is an excellent addition to our health and analysis businesses where we remain well placed to grow organically and through further acquisitions."
