SHANGHAI, Sept. 9 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Hewitt Associates, a global human resources consulting and outsourcing company, today announced the appointment of Smita Anand, based in Shanghai, as Asia Pacific Consulting leader, and the appointment of Jenny Li, based in Beijing, as the China Market leader. Anand previously led Hewitt's consulting services in the Greater China market, while Li previously headed Hewitt’s consulting services in North China. Both promotions are effective on October 1, 2008.
Hewitt’s current Asia Pacific Consulting leader, Eric Fiedler, has been promoted to the position of Co-President for Hewitt’s global Consulting business, and will relocate to the US by October 1, 2008.

Her extensive experience in managing growth markets such as China and India makes her uniquely qualified to provide effective regional leadership. Anand joined Hewitt in 2002 and was the architect behind the company’s transformation of its consulting business in India, taking it to the current position as the leading HR consulting firm in the market. During the past year, she has also energized the company’s China business as market manager and accelerated business growth.
Anand brings with her more than two decades of industry experience in senior roles in human resource consulting, organization change strategy, training, industrial relations, and human resource management. Before joining Hewitt, she headed the Human Capital Services division at PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked with Ernst & Young in Mumbai.
As part of the leadership transition, Jenny Li has been appointed as Market leader for the company’s consulting business in the Greater China market. Smita Anand said: “We are extremely pleased to have such strong internal talent to fill this and other critical positions.”
Li, who has been with the firm for eight years, is currently the North China leader. As an experienced executive and outstanding people manager, she has helped the company build a highly successful business in this competitive market.
