In July, Nikon officially released its SLR D3000, mid-range SLR D300S, telephoto lens 18-200mm VR II, and 70-200mm VR II. These four new products have caused an uproar in the industry. Panasonic, Samsung, and Olympus are even more difficult to compare. Panasonic only relies on a 0.18 percentage advantage lead, but it could be easily surpassed by Samsung. Last month we saw Samsung was paid more attention than Panasonic and even posed a threat to Fuji.
Casio had strong performance in May; it had 5.80 percent market share ranking fifth, but after several months of decline, is now only 1.64 percent at ninth, while Kodak and Pentax are respectively ranked eighth and tenth. Overall, the brand attention did not change much compared to last month, but only Samsung and Panasonic swapped positions. Samsung recently introduced a considerable number of competitive models, so if Fuji does not introduce new initiatives, it will soon be surpassed by Samsung.
As for the top ten DC products, most are Sony and Canon cameras; Sony accounts for four units and Canon accounts for five units, and namely the Nikon long focus P90. The only Sony camera in the list, and a three are card machine, is the home series W220, which shows that Sony's card machines have a higher recognition by consumers. Canon cameras have five on the list, of which four are the card machine and one a single-lens reflex. The only single-lens reflex camera is a Canon 500D; it has a very powerful performance, with 50D mega pixel, a processor and a focus module. Furthermore, its price is affordable, naturally it will be popular among consumers.
