Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX): For the second quarter of 2012, Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX) reported that sales were decreased by 7% to US$1.828 billion, from US$1.975 billion a year earlier. On a GAAP basis, net loss for the second quarter of 2012 was US$3.404 billion, or a loss of US$2.39 per share. That is compared with a net income of US$146 million, or US$0.10 per share, from the same quarter of 2011. Shares of Boston Scientific began the trading session with a price of US$5.20 and throughout the session, it slumped to a low of US$4.79. When day-trade ended, the stock finally dropped 6.75% to US$4.97. There were 75.27 million stock shares traded, which was 6.7 times more than average volume. Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC): For the fourth fiscal quarter 2012, Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) announced that its revenue was increased by 98% to US$4.754 billion from the same quarter of fiscal year 2011. Net income for fourth fiscal quarter was US$745 million, or US$2.87 per share, compared with a net income of US$158 million, or US$0.67 per share. For fiscal year 2012, Western Digital showed revenue was US$12.475 billion, compared with revenue of US$9.526 billion for fiscal year 2011, an increase of 31%. Moreover, the company selected Tim Leyden and Mike Cordano as Presidents of WD and HGST subsidiaries respectively. Shares of Western Digital closed higher by 20.94% to US$39.27 with more than 20.81 million shares traded compared to its average volume of 4.12 million shares.
