BEIJING, Nov. 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Huaneng Power International,
Inc. (the "Company") (NYSE: HNP; HKEx: 902; SSE: 600011) announces that the
first 1,000MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit (Unit 1) at
Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant completed the 168 hours trial run on November 28,
2006. This is the first largest single ultra-supercritical unit in China.
Consequently, the Company's total generation capacity on an equity basis has
increased from 25,552MW to 26,552MW.
Huaneng Power International, Inc. develops, constructs, operates and
manages power plants in China nationwide, with a total generation capacity
of 26,552MW on an equity basis. The Company wholly owns seventeen operating
power plants, and has controlling interests in thirteen operating power
