Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR): On Tuesday, the U.S.-based coal supplier Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR) announced its strategic plan to reshape its portfolio of operations due to changing global coal market. Particularly, organizational streamlining will reduce overhead costs by US$150 million to accelerate adoption of operating best practices and performance improvements. In addition, operational adjustments intend to cut about 1,200 jobs by early 2013 from the current workforce of 13,100 employees.
