International Industry Festival in China -- Metal Working and CNC Machine Tool Show, Industrial Automation Show and Energy Show 2008

SHANGHAI, China, Nov. 6 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- As part of the China International Industry Fair 2008 being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS), Industrial Automation Show (IAS) and Energy Show (ES) all kicked-off yesterday, proving to be a magnet for exhibiting firms, decision-makers, buyers and industry professionals in the fields of metalworking, machine tools, automation and energy technology. Once again over 500 exhibitors from across the globe are taking part in this year's MWCS, occupying around 40,000 sqm of display space. A highlight of the show is expected to be the laser-cutting sector, attracting numerous foreign and domestic exhibitors, including market leaders like Trumpf, AMADA, Bystronic, Hankwang, Mitsubishi, Mazak, Han's Laser, Unity Prima, Chutian and Huagong.

China, a leading country in the industry, boasts the highest growth rate in the industrial automation sector throughout the entire Asian region. The fast development in industrial automation upgraded IAS -- an international trade fair for production and process automation, electrical systems, robots, industrial automation software & IT and microsystems -- a key event in this sector throughout Asia. This year's edition welcomes 480 exhibitors in a display area of 32,000 sqm, embracing acknowledged international market leaders such as Siemens, ABB, Funac, TURCK, Rittal, and P+F, etc. The "Robot Sector" and "Industrial Safety" are the main themes of the fair.
