Jebsen Establishes its New Joint Venture to Serve the Emerging Needs in the Automotive Aftermarket of Diesel Engines

2015-07-09 13:51 6021

HONG KONG, July 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jebsen Group is pleased to announce the establishment of its fifth joint venture in April 2015 -- Jet Union Diesel Fuel Injection Technology Co. Ltd.  A joint venture between Jebsen Automotive Technik, a subsidiary of Jebsen Industrial under the Jebsen Group, and an industry veteran who owns Guangluen Fuel Injection Service Centre, Jet Union has been authorised by Bosch as a Bosch Diesel Service Station in Hong Kong. The station has already started to serve customers in the second quarter of this year.

Jet Union will provide diagnosis, maintenance and repair services for diesel vehicles using both the conventional injection system as well as the newer, more eco-friendly common-rail injection system, which is gaining popularity in commercial vehicle fleets and marine fleets.

Bosch is one of Jebsen Group's longest standing business partners with a relationship that dates back to 1921. With Bosch's support, Jet Union has established highly advanced testing equipment for Bosch's diesel fuel injection system. This equipment will enable Jet Union to perform precise system analysis and auto-generate reports. This is a significant departure from the traditional approach that relies primarily on a mechanic's experience.

"Bosch launched the first common rail injection system in 1997. Our market research has shown that there are about 80,000 vehicles in Hong Kong using the common-rail injection system and the number is expected to increase year-on-year, thereby generating a significant demand on repairs and maintenance services. Jet Union was founded to bring highly specialised aftermarket services to this segment, which we believe will continue to grow tremendously," said Arnie Jensen, Director & General Manager of Jebsen Automotive Technik.

Serving drivers to conform with new emission standards

This comes as the European Commission continues to tighten vehicular emissions standards. The latest Euro 6 Emissions Legislation, in particular, has dramatically dropped the allowable level of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from 180mg/km to 80mg/km for diesel vehicles. Since its introduction in 2014, more automakers have opted to equip their diesel vehicles with common-rail injection systems as the advanced technology enables clean and highly efficient fuel injection with lower emission levels.

Leveraging relationships and expertise

For Jebsen Automotive Technik, the joint venture is a natural extension of its business strategy, which has a dual focus on the OEM and automotive aftermarket segments. Guang Luen Fuel Injection Service Centre will contribute valuable technical expertise as an established player in this field. "We have been running this maintenance services for diesel engines for a long time in mainland China, and now by cooperating with Jebsen Automotive Technik, we are very delighted that we could complement the strengths from each other with target customers extended to Hong Kong," said Mr. Mok Ka Kui, founder of Guang Luen.

With almost a century of experience in the Chinese automotive industry, Jebsen Group is confident of its industry expertise and nationwide network. Jet Union will benefit from both Jebsen Automotive Technik's and Guang Luen's existing aftermarket customer base and can look forward to generate synergies with Jebsen Industrial's Automation & Services Division, which provides specialised customer and technical support across Greater China.
