Korean Authority Approved Green Cross' Four-strain Seasonal Influenza Vaccine

YONGIN, South Korea, November 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Cross Corporation (Green Cross), a South Korean biopharmaceutical company, announced today that South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has approved GCFLU QUADRIVALENT (Influenza Virus Vaccine) for immunisation of adults to help prevent disease caused by seasonal influenza (flu) virus subtype A and B. GCFlu Quadrivalent is the first locally-manufactured vaccine to cover against four influenza strains.

Until recent years, seasonal flu vaccines included two A virus strains and only one B strain. GCFlu Quadrivalent adds coverage a second B strain to help protect against flu disease.

GCFlu Quadrivalent will be available to the healthcare providers in South Korea for the 2016-2017 flu season in prefilled syringes for intramuscular administration.
