2014-01-15 21:00 2789

SINGAPORE, January 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Linktone Ltd. (OTCQB: LTONY, ASX: LTL) ("Linktone" or the "Company"), a provider of media and entertainment content and services in key strategic markets in Asia, announced today that it has filed a Form 15 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") to voluntarily deregister its ordinary shares and American Depositary Shares ("ADSs") under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The filing suspends the Company's obligation to file certain reports with the SEC, including Forms 20-F and 6-K. Other filing requirements will terminate upon the effective date of the deregistration, which is expected to occur 90 days after the filing of the Form 15.

The Company further expects that its ADSs will cease to be traded on the OTC Markets Group's OTCQB. The Company's ADSs may be quoted on the OTC Markets Group's OTC Pink, but there is no assurance that brokers will make a market in these securities. In addition, the Company's ordinary shares (in the form of CHESS Depository Interests or "CDIs") will continue to trade on the Australian Stock Exchange.
