COLOGNE, Germany, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --

The countdown has started. In just four months, LivingKitchen will be opening its doors for the first time. All signs point to a successful premiere. "After exceeding the magic number of 100 registrations back in summer, we are now anticipating a final total of some 150 exhibitors. That means we have more than doubled our initial goal of 70 participants," says Gerald Bose, CEO of Koelnmesse. "The fact that we are dedicating more than 40,000 msquared to the presentation of the kitchen as living space means that, right from the start, LivingKitchen will be the biggest and most complete kitchen show ever held in Germany," continues Bose. The successful recipe for this development is the forward-looking concept devised by Koelnmesse in collaboration with the industry, the retail sector and the relevant associations. The hall plan, which is available online together with the current list of exhibitors as of 16 September 2010, provides a concise overview of the event.

In Central Europe's biggest market, LivingKitchen will underscore the kitchen sector's design and technology expertise and provide fresh impetus for sales. The Association of the German Furniture Industry (Verband der Deutschen Mobelindustrie, VDM) recently reported steady half-year figures and adjusted its forecast for the full year 2010 upward. Because domestic business has stabilised and particularly due to the noticeable rise in foreign business, sales growth of one to three percent is now expected for 2010. The German Kitchen Manufacturers' Association (Verband der Deutschen Kuchenmobelindustrie, VdDK) has announced similar figures. The household appliance industry will be equally well represented at LivingKitchen. In recent years, the sector has been able to build on stable domestic demand and is now reporting export growth again. The fact that Germany's kitchen producers and household appliance industry occupy a leading position on the global market plays a significant role in this context.

LivingKitchen thus satisfies the basic prerequisite for becoming the most important kitchen platform in the world long-term. And the dual event, an international furniture and kitchen fair held at the same time and place, guarantees a visit to the exhibition will be doubly worthwhile.

LivingKitchen is optimally embedded in the imm cologne, where it is directly surrounded by Halls 2 to 11. And that's not all: in the arcade between Halls 4 and 5, a big stage will host the varied supporting programme, and "Cooktainment" shows featuring chefs Johann Lafer, Frank Buchholz and Nelson Müller will take place right in the middle of Hall 4.1. The LivingKitchen organisers have also integrated a special interzum exhibition area into Hall 4.1.
