WHAT:
On Saturday, 29 August, in honor of its 125th anniversary, IEEE, the world's largest technical professional society, will host one in a series of global events at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore, India.
The event will feature keynote presentations from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India; Mr. SK Chaturvedi, Chairman & Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation of India; Dr. Kris Gopalkrishnan, CEO and Managing Director of Infosys Technologies Limited; and Prof. VK Aatre, Former Scientific Advisor to Ministry of Defense and Secretary to Government of India.
Presentations will revolve around 2020 Vision - Future of technology in India, Indian power sector and challenges ahead, globalization and innovation in India and Education and research.
Following the general program, IEEE will host an invitation-only reception with food and beverage for media, IEEE fellows, students, academia, distinguished technology professionals and customers.

WHY:
IEEE Bangalore Section members, customers and technology leaders will join together to celebrate the numerous accomplishments of IEEE and the Bangalore Section during the past 125 years, including the first Indian Section to have signed the MOU during the IEEE Sections Congress and establishing international conferences on Computers, Systems and Signal Processing as well as Communication, Control and Signal Processing.

Invited IEEE Fellows, members of academia, distinguished technology industry professionals, customers and members of the media will gather to listen to a roster of notable speakers, including Dr. John R. Vig, 2009 IEEE President; Mr. YJ Park, IEEE Region 10 Director;
Mr. Ramakrishna Kappagantu, Chairman of IEEE Bangalore Section; Prof. HP Khincha, Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University in Bangalore; as well as the aforementioned keynote speakers, among others. Discussions will address how IEEE has influenced these individuals' work and the speakers' personal perspectives on the future of technology.
