Felda Global Ventures Holdings, the world's third-largest operator of palm oil plantations, pursued a long-awaited public listing in June 2012 that not only shattered records, but raised the profile of Malaysia's equity markets at a time when investors from around the world were looking for a safe haven. Therefore, Felda proved itself worthy of the crown for 'Best IPO Deal of the Year in Southeast Asia; & Best Deal of the Year for Minority Shareholders in Southeast Asia' for its US$3.1 billion IPO. CIMB Investment Bank, Maybank Investment Bank and Morgan Stanley acted as joint global coordinators for Felda Global's flotation, with JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank working as joint bookrunners.

Asia's largest hospital operator, Integrated Healthcare Holdings (IHH), backed by state-owned Malaysian investment company Khazanah Nasional, raised RM6.3 billion (US$2 billion) from its IPO in July 2012, after fixing the price near the top of the indicative range, making it the third largest public offering in the world scooped 'Best Dual-Listed IPO of the Year in Southeast Asia'. Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, CIMB and Deutsche Bank were the lead global coordinators for the listing, with Credit Suisse, DBS, Goldman Sachs and Maybank acting as joint bookrunners.

Local banks AmInvestment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank, OSK Investment Bank, Public Investment Bank and RHB Investment won plaudits for their roles as joint underwriters for the retail offering among others for both Felda's and IHH's IPOs.

Meanwhile, Maybank showed its muscle in the house awards for 'Best Islamic Finance Trade Solution' and 'Best Custody Solution'.
