CoreNet Global Presents Master of Corporate Real Estate Designation to Graduates of its 2006 MCR Programme

HONG KONG, April 23 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Graduates of CoreNet Global's Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) Professional Development Programme have received their Honours at a special graduation ceremony held as part of the professional association's 2007 Asia Summit.

A total of six graduates from across the Asian region were presented with their Master of Corporate Real Estate designation at the ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Singapore. This brings to 1,216 the number of students graduating from the programme since its inception in 1982.

The ceremony, sponsored by Johnson Controls, was attended by over 300 members of CoreNet Global, whose membership comprises senior commercial real estate professionals representing leading organizations from around the world.

The graduates were honoured for successfully completing the Association's MCR programme which, taught on a part-time basis via a series of required and elective seminars, is designed to provide knowledge on the strategic management of commercial realty assets.

In Asia, the Master of Corporate Real Estate course is sponsored by CoreNet Global's regional MCR partner, Haworth, a global leader in office furniture and architectural interiors that serves over 120 markets worldwide.

The programme is also unique in that it only accepts students who are hired by companies before they commence the course. Comments Mr. Alex Lam, Vice President, Global Learning Asia at CoreNet Global, "Many of our MCR students from Asia are already experienced corporate real estate practitioners with a successful track record of working around the world.

"However, these individuals recognize that having the qualification can help to further advance their careers by equipping them with additional knowledge and expertise, plus a designation that communicates their professionalism within the corporate real estate industry."

Mr. Lam stated that he expected demand for Masters qualified realty professionals to increase given the dynamic growth currently taking place within the commercial real estate sector across the entire region, and in particular, India and China.

"One of the key benefits of the MCR is that it provides participants with a greater understanding of the issues and problems faced by the corporate real estate profession, as well as a critical and analytical approach to the assessment and management of problems and solutions," he noted.
