Maxthon Makes Android Browsing Faster and More Customized With Maxthon Mobile 2.0

SAN FRANCISCO, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Today global software and services company Maxthon made web surfing faster and more customized for Android users with the release of Maxthon Mobile 2.0. Version 2.0 offers users new touch screen gestures and commands, multi-pinch and zoom, a smart address bar and time-savers like "Quick Back."

When Ver. 1 of Maxthon Mobile was released late last year, Android Police wrote, "There's a new kid on the browser block, and it looks like he may be giving the others something to think about." Maxthon Mobile 2.0 extends an already cutting-edge product to new levels.

The first thing users will notice about the new Maxthon Mobile 2.0 for Android is its new collection of software skins. They let MxM users customize their phones in eyeball-busting pure colors and delicately blended gradients. But more and more as people use Maxthon Mobile, they'll come to appreciate the little touches that have a big payoff when it comes to roaming the Internet.

For example, version 2.0 comes with a pack of new gesture commands, which have been among the most popular conveniences in version 1 of MxM. With gestures such as multi-pinch and zoom, a user can expand or collapse photos, maps, and documents using only a thumb and forefinger.

The improved user interface includes intelligent links in the address bar. If a user, for example, types "f" in the address bar, MxM completes the spelling with "facebook.com." If Facebook is, in fact, the site the user wants to go to, a simple finger tap takes him there. If Maxthon Mobile's guess is wrong, the user completes the URL and carries on without interruption.

Already one of the fastest browsers in the Android universe, Maxthon Mobile gets an added boost of speed from its Quick Back feature. Quick Back leverages sophisticated caching to store copies of previously visited pages, eliminating the need to download text, graphics, and audio on subsequent visits.

But it's the new skins that are the favorite of one constant MxM user, Maxthon CEO Jeff Chen.

"You spend a lot of time with your smartphone. You should be able to customize it. Our skins offer you a little freedom of choice and more are coming. The skins tell the world, 'This is my smartphone. This is my internet.'"
