Memory Expert Smashes Current World Record

SINGAPORE, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- On Sunday 3 April 2011, Singapore permanent resident, Nishant Kasibhatla, broke the Guinness World Record™ by memorizing 100 colours shown in random sequence. The previous record was set a decade ago, in 2001 in Munich, Germany by Florian Dollner, who memorised 40 colours.

Nishant is now set to enter the record books for "longest colour sequence memorized" having successfully recalled the sequence of 100 primary colours without error.

This rare, heart-stopping event, held in Bras Basah Complex, Singapore, was recorded in front of a live audience and two official witnesses. The witnesses were Mr. Sonny Aswani, The Estonian honorary consul in Singapore, and Mr. Jeffrey Gomez, Executive Director, Marketing Institute of Singapore.

"You could have cut the air with a knife for the anxious 45 minutes that it took for me to view, memorise then recall the colours," says Singapore's newest world record participant. "I've been training hard for months for this moment, and am very proud to help Singapore claim another world record. It's a fantastic feeling!"

Nishant Kasibhatla has been practicing various memory techniques for the past 15 years and he was the highest ranked Asian at the World Memory Championships in 2003.
