Moet & Chandon And FilmAid Asia Announces Khalil Fong to Perform at Inaugural Power of Film Gala Honouring Keanu Reeves And Duncan Jepson, Co-Chaired by Donnie Yen on Sunday March 18th, 2012

Hong Kong, March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Moet & Chandon and FilmAid Asia are pleased to announce Khalil Fong to perform at the inaugural Power of Film Gala honouring actor and filmmaker Keanu Reeves and activist Duncan Jepson at the Grand Hyatt on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Co-chaired by FilmAid Global Artist Council member, Donnie Yen, Moet & Chandon and FilmAid Asia, and attended by Daniel Wu, Karen Mok, Gackt and Josie Ho, the evening will bring together luminaries from both the film and finance world. Proceeding from the gala, emceed by Lisa S, will include funds from a live auction with Christie’s Francois Curiel at the hammer. These will be used to support FilmAid Asia’s programmes, while also funding FilmAid’s broader mission. This will include skills training in film production, partnerships with NGOs and local community based organizations and group screenings of educational and inspirational films that address issues pertinent to the Asia region -- such as trafficking of men, women and children.

R&B and soul music artist, Khalil Fong, was born in Hawaii and has lived in Hong Kong since 1998. Fong joined Warner Music Hong Kong in 2004 and rocketed to fame in 2005 when he took away the Silver Newcomer title at the Commercial Radio Hong Kong Music Awards. He followed up this success in Taiwan, rapidly gaining popularity and winning Best Male Mandarin Singer at the Golden Melody Awards. Fong was also announced Best Male Artist at the 2008 Commercial Radio Hong Kong Music Awards and is the youngest artist to have received this accolade. This accomplishment secured his place in the Hong Kong music industry’s hall of fame.

After the success of his Timeless Live tour, which took him to Hong Kong and Taiwan, major cities in Mainland China, Malaysia, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Fong launched his critically acclaimed concert tour 15 Live in 2011. 2011 was the most successful year yet for Fong seeing him net awards including Silver Male Artist, Best Singer/Songwriter, Best Composer, Best Song for his track "Hao Bu Rong Yi" and Best Album for his immensely popular release 15.

To date, Fong has released seven studio albums composing, arranging and producing his own music as well as that of other Hong Kong and Taiwan artists. Such artists include CoCo Lee, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Eason Chan, A-mei Chang, Fiona Sit and Shiga Lin.
