General Electric Company (NYSE:GE): Earlier this week, General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) reported that the company signed an agreement to purchase 100% of Australia-based Industrea Limited in exchange of approximately AUD700 million. In addition, General Electric signed a binding Letter of Intent to acquire Fairchild International. Terms of this deal were not disclosed. General Electric said that the combination of the two entities will expand the company's product offering to increase roughly 35% of the underground mining value chain. General Electric Company has a market capitalization of 199.89 billion. The stock slid 0.63% on Thursday to US$18.88. It was traded above average volume with 52.09 million shares traded, 10.14 million shares more than its daily average.
