Good(TM) products to be available directly from more than 10,000 global value-added resellers (VARs) through Motorola's PartnerSelect Program

SINGAPORE, March 27 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today made it easier for businesses to get a complete, integrated mobile computing solution by making Good Mobile Messaging 5 (Good 5) available to enterprises in Asia.

With over 12,000 enterprise customers worldwide, Motorola Good Technology Group provides solutions for wireless email, corporate application access, and smartphone management and security. Good will be available through more than 10,000 value-added resellers (VARs) worldwide through the Motorola PartnerSelect channel program. Enterprises will be able to easily purchase a complete, integrated mobile computing solution from a global network of highly specialised resellers and receive in-country sales and technical support.

Good 5 advances Motorola's award-winning Good Mobile Messaging software and service to help make mobile email more personalised and productive, while enhancing IT control.

Good 5 incorporates multiple new features that vastly improve the mobile experience both for business users and IT professionals. For business users, Good 5 lets you get things done more easily and provides greater personalisation with features like RSS news feeds, customised email alerts and filters, and complete calendaring including free/busy checking and an automated conference room finder. For IT, the new release expands Good's handheld security and management capabilities to include remote control of handheld features like cameras, Bluetooth ports, and storage cards as well as the ability to prevent use of handheld applications like browsers, games, and more.

"SingTel is extending its leadership position in the wireless e-mail and application access space through its alliance with Good," said Mr Lee Kai Hock, Director of Business Marketing, SingTel. "Good complements our portfolio of offerings for businesses. It provides a cost-efficient, secure and easy-to-implement solution through which customers can access business-critical email and PIM applications on any device that they prefer."

"Good is a powerful addition to our portfolio," said Francis Choo, Managing Director, Ingram Micro Asia Limited. "Combining a leading mobile email solution with the industry's most popular mobile computing devices allows us to serve our enterprise customers more comprehensively and gives us a distinct competitive advantage."

"The holy grail of mobile computing lies somewhere between complete IT control and unencumbered usability. Products that try to close that gap often compromise the mobile experience for users," said Jeff Buhl, director of Motorola Good Technology Group, Enterprise Mobile Solutions, Asia Pacific. "With Good 5, we've successfully bridged the divide by giving end users the usability and personalisation they want, while arming IT with even more remote device control."

Broadened Distribution

To make it easier for enterprises to get a unified mobility solution, Motorola's PartnerSelect Program now offers a family of bundled mobile computing solutions comprising Good on a choice of mobile computing devices and smartphones including the Motorola MC35, MC50 and MC70, and the Motorola Q smartphone family, as well as a variety of Palm, HTC and Samsung smartphones. Authorised resellers can package bundled solutions with device activations and vertical applications for their customers.

"Our channel partners and customers have been asking for end-to-end enterprise mobility solutions designed to meet the requirements of both end-users and IT, and addressing the needs of blue, grey and white collar segments," added Jeff Buhl. "By adding Good Mobile Messaging and Good Mobile Intranet to their portfolios, solution providers and customers will now have streamlined access to a truly comprehensive mobile offering from Motorola."

Availability

Good 5 will be available in early April through certified value-added resellers in Asia as well as through select carriers. The software and service supports a broad choice of the industry's most popular smartphones and works with both IBM, Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange. Additionally, Good 5 supports double-byte character display so that it is Asian language-compatible.
