Company further expands intelligent and efficient solutions in line with growing appetite for LED

GUANGZHOU, China, June 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Osram today unveiled a sizable booth at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2013, where it is showcasing some 300 lighting products and systems. The extensive display includes a wealth of intelligent and efficient LED illumination solutions in what is a clear testament to the company's innovation focus, and determination to shape the future of light.

"While we craft and cater to both analogue and digital products, the innovation taking place on the LED side of our business is tremendous. As per our values as a company, the thinking behind that innovation ensures that we not only create efficient, total solutions, but also intelligent solutions, that improve both quality of light and quality of life", says Samuel Wu, President and CEO of Osram Asia Pacific.

"The resulting advancements we've made – many of which were hatched here in China, where we continue to focus our global expansion efforts – have put us in a promising position as far as the next wave of lighting needs is concerned," Wu adds, citing a 2012 McKinsey report in which LED products are tipped to account for almost 70 per cent of the global lighting market by 2020.

Intelligent solutions …

The Guangzhou exhibition will feature Osram's Traxon IMAGIC WEAVE® HO solution, which allows for large structures to be converted into canvases for media presentations. Uniquely, the product offers three levels of brightness configurations, presents the ability to be fitted in a broad range of locations, and comes complete with the option of supporting consulting services from Osram's team of experts. IMAGIC WEAVE® HO solutions are currently deployed at numerous high-profile sports stadiums and large structures across the globe, such as the Grand Stade Lille Metropole in Lille, France.

Also part of the Traxon family is the Plug'n'Play Cove Light AC HO linear lighting system. Known for its versatility, and minimal setup costs and configuration needs, it serves as an ideal solution for architectural, hospitality and retail environments. Traxon Plug'n'Play solutions are also used at office buildings on occasion, as can be seen at the Al Gurg Trading & Projects Office in Dubai, UAE.

... with efficiency in mind

When it comes to efficiency, Osram's LEDTOUCH Batten – a mid-power LED luminaire housed in an elegant aluminium casing – is an ideal choice. The product's compact size and plug-and-play design makes it the perfect light source for studies or personal offices. In comparison to its predecessor, the 2X28W T5 Batten, the LEDTOUCH Batten offers 50 per cent more energy savings. Part of the same series, the LEDTOUCH Tracklight, with its far-reaching dimming and swivel options, brings that same energy-saving capacity to retail spaces.

Osram's electronic control gear meanwhile provides energy-saving solutions for both solid-state and traditional lighting. The company's versatile T5/T8-supporting QTP-OPTIMAL gear, for example, makes traditional lighting significantly more cost-effective. But for those seeking the greenest of lighting solutions, PrevaLED series products, such as PrevaLED Linear Value and PrevaLED Cube LED modules, make for attractive choices.

The switch to efficient, solid-state lighting is not only occurring in organisations, but also in households through versatile products like Osram's LED Classic A lamps. These modern light sources are suited to a variety of locations, from living rooms to bedrooms, and serve as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional incandescent and CFL-i lamps. The LED STAR CLASSIC A40, for example, offers an average lifespan of 15,000 hours.

As for Osram's indoor and outdoor LED lighting components, these too boast extensive usage capabilities. The company's state-of-the-art Duris S 5 LED boasts a lifespan of 35,000 hours in temperature conditions up to 105 degrees Celsius.
