The Global Partnership Contract was signed today by Ms. Indra Nooyi, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo and Ms. Ellen Eliasoph, Co-Chairman of the USA National Pavilion at a ceremony attended by senior representatives of the Expo Organizing Committee, senior officials from China's Ministry of Commerce and National Development and Reform Commission, U.S. Consul General in Shanghai Beatrice Camp, and officials of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. The Contract provides that PepsiCo will contribute US$5 million to the USA National Pavilion effort and will join the highest tier of USA National Pavilion sponsors.

Ms. Eliasoph remarked, "We are deeply honored by PepsiCo's decision to partner with the USA National Pavilion. PepsiCo's global commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainable business practices are completely in sync with our Pavilion themes of Sustainability and Health. Our collaboration with PepsiCo will enable us to offer Pavilion visitors a vivid and refreshing USA National Pavilion experience."

"We are delighted to welcome PepsiCo as a Global Partner of the USA National Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai," said Consul General Camp. "The Shanghai Expo offers leading American companies such as PepsiCo an opportunity to demonstrate environmentally-friendly U.S. technologies and products to the 70 million visitors expected to attend from China and around the globe."

"I expect the Shanghai 2010 World Expo to be a magnificent event, and a wonderful opportunity to show how nations are working to improve the environment and enrich the lives of people around the world," said Ms. Indra Nooyi. "We are proud to support this historic event as a Global Partner of the USA National Pavilion. This is a great complement to our efforts to promote sustainability in China, including building 'green' plants, developing healthy products specifically for Chinese tastes, and actively promoting sustainable agriculture and healthy communities. We at PepsiCo are working hard every day to realize the 'Better City, Better Life' vision set out by the Expo organizers."

The 2010 Shanghai World Expo will be held from May 1 through October 31, 2010. It is expected that some 70 million people will attend, 95% of whom will be from Mainland China. This will be the first time China has hosted a world expo, and already more than 190 nations have committed to participate.

At over 60,000 square feet (6000 square meters), the USA National Pavilion will be one of the largest national pavilions at the Expo. It will showcase American culture, values, innovation and business in China's most dynamic city, while celebrating the friendship and cooperation between the U.S. and China.

In accordance with U.S. legal requirements, the USA Pavilion is being operated through a non-profit organization. The entity, Shanghai Expo 2010 Inc., is co-chaired by Ellen R. Eliasoph and Nick S.
