Nomination Opens for Local and Overseas Projects which Build the Perfect Future

HONG KONG, July 7 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Quality Building Award (QBA) 2010 which is organized by nine professional bodies in the construction industry is now open for nominations. QBA 2010 carries a visionary theme of "Quality Transcends Time" which aims to recognize the contribution in building a better future of outstanding projects.

2007 and 30 June 2009.

For the first time in QBA, the organizers have invited renowned overseas professional bodies and institutions to be the supporting organizations of QBA 2010 which enable more quality buildings (both local and overseas) to be recognized. QBA accepted nominations of overseas projects since last edition (QBA 2008) which gained great support within the industry. The Merit winner of the "Project outside Hong Kong" Category of QBA 2008 is one of the venues of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the National Swimming Centre (which is also known as the Water Cube).

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of QBA 2010, Mr. Wong Kit Loong said, "Quality Building Award has earned great respect and authority in the construction industry over the years since the first edition in 2001. Past winning projects include Chi Lin Nunnery, IFC, Four Seasons Hotel, The Arch and the National Swimming Centre (Water Cube) etc,. Moreover, we have initiated a new policy this year in which project teams are required to submit the nomination material electronically for environmental purposes."

The nomination period of QBA 2010 will end on 15 January, 2010. A series of jury and assessment processes will follow and the award results will be announced in June 2010.

About Quality Building Award

Found in 2001 by seven building and construction related associations in Hong Kong, QBA is a biennial award which aimed to acknowledge quality building teams that help construct buildings with outstanding quality.
