Rail+Metro China 2014, the 9th International Rail & Metro China Expo, Will Be Held In Shanghai New International Expo Center on June 17-19, 2014

SHANGHAI, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Since its debut in 2002, Rail+Metro China has become the leading trade show in the rail and urban mass transit industry in China. It obtains support from government departments and associations including the National Development & Reform Commission, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction, Ministry of Transportation, Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority, China Association of Metros, China Civil Engineering Society, China International Engineering Consulting Corporation, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd., CSR, CNR, and more.

China's nation-wide rail transit infrastructure construction has entered a rapid development era. By the end of 2013, China's total length of urban mass transit reached 2,746 kilometers in 19 cities in China, while its railway length has reached 5,586 kilometers, including 1,672 kilometers high-speed railway.

Organized by Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd., the event scale of Rail+Metro China 2014 reaches 20,000 square meters, with more than 200 renowned enterprises joining the event, highlighting CSR, CNR, Bombadier, Alstom, ZTE, Thales Saic, Casco, and Vossloh. The enterprises comes from over 12 countries, including China, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Slovakia, Britain, Spain, Austria, America, and Canada.

CSR, CNR, and Alstom will display five electric rail cars at Rail+Metro China 2014. 100 percent low-floor trams from CSR Puzhen will be put into operation on Line 1 in Suzhou high tech Zone on July, 2014. It is the first official public bidding project approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. CNR Changchun will display intercity rapid transit vehicle and the UTO Metro car for Hong Kong's MTR South Island Line. Meanwhile, Alstom will display the CITADIS modernized electric rail car model at the show.

The Organizing Committee organizes over 10 seminars during Rail+Metro China 2014 including the Annual Meeting of Railway Society of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong; Globalization Strategy of China's High Speed Railways Forum; Tram Seminar; System Safety of Rail Transit Seminar; Railway Vibration & Noise Control Seminar; Tunnel and Underground Engineering Technology Seminar; Development Trends; and Technology Innovation of AFC System Seminar.
