AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Sept. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ramboll Environ is pleased to announce the establishment of an office in Auckland, New Zealand. Principal Kenneth Macdonald and Senior Manager Dr Daniel McClary will lead the firm's New Zealand operations from the new Auckland office of the global environmental, health and sustainability consultancy.

Kenneth Macdonald has more than 25 years of regulatory and consulting experience in water quality, industrial pollution control, regulatory compliance and auditing. He has worked for a range of public- and private-sector organisations, including 15 years working for environmental protection authorities in Scotland and Europe and more than a dozen years as an environmental consultant in the UK, Europe, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. His clients represent a wide range of sectors, including chemicals and pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, power, food and drink, cement and lime, steel production, pulp and paper, water, wastewater and transport. A Chartered Chemist and a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, Ken has published on the effects of environmental regulation on business competitiveness, and lectured on environmental management at the post-graduate level. Most recently, he managed implementation of a major environmental and public health improvement programme in the Cook Islands, which involved establishing new policies and legislation, building technical teams, developing water quality monitoring programmes, and upgrading sanitation systems at 240 sites.

Dr Daniel McClary is a marine biologist with over 25 years of international experience in marine science research, consulting and management. He has significant expertise in marine biosecurity and in assessing the effects and impacts of industry on the environment. Dan has provided strategic regulatory support to a wide variety of commercial clients and government agencies in New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. He has been listed by the United Nations Environment Programme on the Roster of Experts in marine and coastal biodiversity and biosecurity. An Associate Editor with the Journal of Aquaculture and Marine Biology, he is past President of the New Zealand Marine Sciences Society and past Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board of the New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research.
