SHANGHAI, China, June 18 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Riemann Investment donated over RMB 200,000 to aid those affected by the massive earthquake in southwestern China, after a catastrophic earthquake of Richter Scale 8 suddenly struck Sichuan Province at 14:28 PM, 12 May 2008, which left tens of thousands dead and many thousands more injured, with millions left homeless.
On May 13th, Riemann Investment urgently called upon all employees to actively participate in the “Support Anti-earthquake, Show Love” campaign. Riemann Investment donated RMB 100,000 in cash through Shanghai Red Cross Society to help with the rescue and relief efforts as well as the post-disaster reconstruction activities. Meanwhile, Riemann employee’s donation was speedily transferred to the China Red Cross Society, Li Lianjie One Foundation.
On 23 May, Riemann Investment shareholders continued their support by donating a further RMB 100,000 in cash through CYDF (China Youth Development Foundation), helping to build four Earthquake Relief Hope Schools in Hefeng Center School (Hongqiao School), Shifang City.
Charitable activities and beneficent acts have long become regular on Riemann Investment’s agenda. Riemann employees were also active in making donations after the 2007 flooding disaster and the devastating snowstorms in early 2008.
