Samsung is Working with TI to Deliver Next Generation High Definition Audio & Video Networking Entertainment Suite of Products

DALLAS, March 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced that Samsung, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, is implementing TI’s 1394 technology for High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA) home entertainment networking products such as set-top-boxes (STB), digital televisions, TV nodes and digital video recorders (DVRs).

TI’s recognized 1394b portfolio includes the TSB41BA3 and TSB81BA3 PHY devices. TI’s chipsets enable high-speed audio, video and data connections (up to 400 Mbps) across longer cable lengths (up to 100 meters), using a variety of cable media (STP, Cat5, POF, GOF) for home networking applications. In addition, content protection is enabled to ensure a trusted home network.
