CSO for Microsoft India Brings Risk Management Thought Leadership to Regional Advisory Group

HONG KONG, Feb. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- (ISC)²® ("ISC-squared"), the world's largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced Sanjay Bahl, CISM, CIPP/IT joins its Asian Advisory Board. Sanjay Bahl is currently the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt Ltd.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Sanjay was the CSO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he established an enterprise-wide converged security environment and effectively addressed risk management and security across the organization globally. He has been in the IT industry since 1984, with experience in various areas. Sanjay is and has been a member of various security committees at both the national and international levels and is a winner of the prestigious and coveted Alliance for Enterprise Security Risk Management's second Annual Excellence in Security Convergence and Contribution to Enterprise Risk Management Award for 2007. He was the winner of the Microsoft Security Strategist Award 2007 in the IT / ITeS and Telecom category in India. Sanjay is a regular speaker and has written papers at Industry and Academic forums. He graduated in electrical engineering from Manipal University and has done his Mtech in Systems and Management from IIT, Delhi.

The AAB is one of six volunteer advisory boards for (ISC)², who advise (ISC)² executive management on information security policies and trends and make recommendations regarding professional development programs offered to the information security workforce in Asia-Pacific. The inaugural meeting was held in Hong Kong in August 2004. Since that time, the AAB has been instrumental in the advancement of the information security workforce throughout Asia-Pacific, including the translation of (ISC)² credential exams and the recognition of information security workforce innovators and pioneers through the (ISC)² Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA) in Asia-Pacific. Other boards advise on information security workforce issues specific to the US Government, North America, Latin American, European regions and Application Security.
