2011-12-08 10:04 1369

ADELAIDE, Australia, December 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Schneider Electric and SolveIT Software have teamed up to host the 2012 Integrated Planning and Optimisation Summit (IPOS'12) at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 27-28 February, 2012 (www.IPOS2012.com).

This premier event focuses on the emerging topic of effective, enterprise-wide decision support and addresses critical topics surrounding integrated planning and optimisation. Attracting senior delegates from various business sectors, IPOS 2012 will include keynote presentations by world-class experts that will challenge existing thinking and highlight future decision support possibilities.

Presenters include Dr John Gattorna, author of Dynamic Supply Chains; futurist Mike Walsh, author of Futuretainment; John Ansley, CIO of Linfox; and Rohan Davison, CIO of Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Further insights into integrated planning and optimisation will be supported by case studies from leading companies including Xstrata, Incitec Pivot, CBH Group, Viterra, Nufarm and OneSteel.

"The 2012 Integrated Planning & Optimisation Summit will focus on how businesses are re-designing themselves, their IT solutions, and their operating paradigms to address market volatility, global competition, and, above all, the internal obstacles that affect decisi on making and performance," said Zbigniew Michalewicz, Chairman of SolveIT Software. "The shift to integrated planning, not only within a single business silo, but across an entire enterprise, represents the future of decision support, and optimisation technologies will be a significant enabler of this emerging area."

Scott Wooldridge, Vice President Industry Business at Schneider Electric Australia added, "The world is becoming more dynamic and more interconnected each year. Managers and executives are finding that changes in supply and demand can be sudden and unexpected. The complexity of doing business is increasing at a rapid rate and it is becoming hard to anticipate events, interpret their potential impact and understand the implication of various decisions at both an operational and strategic level."

"Against this backdrop, managers and executives across countless business sectors are realising that better decision support tools, processes, and paradigms are required to manage the increasing complexity and change occurring in the world. This has created intense market interest around terms such as 'Integrated Planning' and 'Optimisation', both of which hold the promise of increased visibility, transparency, and most importantly, decision making capability within a business. IPOS 2012 addresses these key topics and showcases the competitive advantage that leading businesses are already experiencing in this domain."
