As we enter the Internet + era, smart living has already become a part of our daily existence, but we still have a long way to go before we can say the "smart home" has become a universal feature of every home. Many industry experts and company executives agreed at the summit that most of the existing smart products on the market today are designed for a single purpose that can only partially address consumer expectations.

As the organizer of the summit, the executives in charge of the Haier U+ smart platform presented their suggested solutions for resolving the issues surrounding the five major topics, eliciting a unanimous, positive response from the participating companies. The head of Haier U+ explained, "As a leader in the Chinese smart home market, Haier U+ launched the world's first fully open, interactive and personalized smart home platform in 2014, enabling the interconnection among smart products and services from a variety of brands by virtue of its open interface protocol. As of early 2016, the smart home platform had been connected to 120 categories of Haier and third party smart home appliances and smart hardware, allowing for real interconnection among these offerings. To respond to the increasingly challenging cybersecurity issues, Haier U+ has created an end-to-end integrated security system, the first standard-compliant information security system in the industry, and is actively promoting the standardization of information security systems and the industrialization process across the industry through its role as vice chairman of Wi-Fi Alliance's smart home standard and certification working group, the Home Experience Marketing Task Group (HE MTG)."

Haier U+ aims to meet user expectations and enhance user experience by addressing the issues of interconnection, information security and data ownership. By offering smart home products in five major areas, entertainment, safety and security, the kitchen, the home and cleaning, Haier U+ provides one-stop solutions that meet a variety of these expectations across the ecosystem, promoting the wider use of smart home appliances.

Another participating market leader said in conclusion, "I have always held the belief that one strong Chinese business would eventually come to the fore and take the domestic smart home industry to a new level. At the conference, Haier U+ facilitated the cross-disciplinary integration of household appliances and information technologies, and promised to join hands with other industry players to break down the barriers facing the industry while strengthening cooperation with other industries and disciplines. I can now feel confident that we will guide Chinese smart home manufacturers in moving onto the international stage and further boost the development of the domestic smart home industry!"
