Partners sign exclusive China distribution agreement for Avance software, taking relationship to a new level
HONG KONG, Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Seizing opportunities created by China's robust economy and ongoing infrastructure investments, Stratus Technologies, Inc. and Shanghai Hi-Tech Control System Co., Ltd. (HITE) are aggressively ramping up sales with a record-setting multi-million dollar purchase and broadening their partnership to include new products, the two companies announced today.
HITE has ordered more than 200 Stratus® ftServer® systems, the largest single ftServer system order in Stratus history. The industry-standard ftServer line is designed specifically to deliver continuous uptime for critical IT applications common among HITE's extensive customer base.
The two companies also have entered into a distribution agreement, awarding HITE exclusive rights to sell Stratus Avance® high-availability software in China. The agreement runs through December, 2012 with the option to extend. The Avance software creates a high-availability computing platform from general-purpose x86 servers that is simple to use and very affordable.

HITE, a systems integrator serving the industrial automation industry, has customers in manufacturing, utilities, highway tolling and other businesses throughout Shanghai, Jiangsu, and neighboring provinces. Among the many installations already using Stratus servers, the company implemented the traffic monitoring and management system installed initially for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. HITE has been among Stratus' top-ten customers for ftServer systems for the past two fiscal years and first quarter of the current fiscal year, and the company is the recipient of numerous business excellence awards in China.
