$100 Per Student at August Sessions Being Donated to Health and Rescue Agencies

SUNDANCE, Utah, May 19 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Students registering for the August 2008 Sundance Photo Workshops by June 30th will have $100 of their course fees donated to agencies providing disaster relief in China and Burma. Within the span of one week, a typhoon ravaged Myanmar, Burma, killing at least 28,000, while an earthquake in western China measuring 7.2 killed more than 50,000 people and injured hundreds of thousands more.

Sundance Instructor Nevada Wier was teaching a workshop when these tragedies struck. She has worked extensively throughout both China and Burma on assignments for National Geographic, as have many of the Workshop instructors. "Our connection to China and Myanmar runs deep with many our instructors. The beautiful images we all enjoy are created when the photographer connects with his or her subject and a bond is formed. It is this bond, our respect for our instructors, and concern for the peoples of these tragedies for which we dedicate these contributions," said Hilary Cole, general manager, Sundance Photographic Workshop.

Instructors at the August Sundance Photo Workshops include professional nature photographer Tony Sweet, conducting a session entitled "Exploring Your Personal Vision," and portrait photographer Bobbi Lane, who is leading a course called "Portraits on Location."

Complete course descriptions and registration information for all Workshops are available at http://www.sundanceworkshop.com . For more information, contact Hilary Cole at 800-287-1977, or hilary@sundanceworkshop.com.

About Sundance Photographic Workshops

The Sundance Photographic Workshops are held at the Sundance Resort, the artistic, cultural and recreational community founded in 1969 by actor Robert Redford. The resort was recently voted #2 in the top 50 Mainland U.S. resorts by Conde Nast Traveler -- and #1 among mountain resorts. It also served as the original home for the renowned Sundance Film Festival before its growing fame dictated its relocation to nearby Park City.

Nestled discreetly in the foothills of Mt. Timpanogos, the Sundance Resort is crafted to preserve the area’s breathtaking, rich environment, while providing world-class accommodations for Workshop participants.

The all-inclusive fee includes comfortable lodging in private mountainside cottages, as well as a complete meal plan that includes gourmet dining in The Tree Room, recipient of the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond award and the Wine Spectator award.
