TCL Communication's Q1 2011 Shipments of Handsets and Accessories Jump 51% YOY

Sustained growth in sales momentum

HONG KONG, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or "the Company", together with its subsidiaries referred to as "the Group"; HKSE stock code: 02618) today announced its unaudited handsets and accessories shipment figures for the month of March and the first quarter ended 31 March 2011.

Total sales volume of handsets and accessories reached 3,211,981 units in March 2011, up 42% from the same period last year, while sales in overseas markets surged 48% year-on-year to 3,015,503 units. For the first quarter of this year, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and accessories was up 51% year-on-year to 8,714,926 units, and the sales volume in overseas markets increased 56% from the same period last year.

The Group was able to sustain growth in the sales momentum of its handsets and accessories because of the Group's geographical expansion into new and high potential markets globally, the continued success of its "Step-up" product strategy, stronger brand and more robust development of the Original Design Manufacture business. This is another prestigious award from the international design industry subsequent to the winning of the "iF Industry Design Award".
