TEDA Ranked Best National Development Zone in China for 14th Consecutive Year

TIANJIN, China, September 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) has won the honor of the best national industrial park in China by the Ministry of Commerce for the 14th consecutive year.

The consistent top award underlines TEDA's status as China's most innovative and international industrial park offering the best investment environment.

In the running for the 2010 ranking were 90 Chinese industrial parks, up from 53 in the previous year. New additions included Tibet's Lhasa Development Zone and another 36 parks newly accredited with the national industrial park title.

"TEDA is able to hold the position as the best investment choice in China, despite a growing number of new industrial parks emerging in the nation. This reflects not only the dedication and superior management of the TEDA team, but our careful long-term planning to coincide with the central government's economic development policies," says He Shushan, Secretary & Chairman of the Administrative Commission of TEDA. "TEDA will continue to improve the Development Zone's eco-friendliness and infrastructure to ensure prosperity of not only our industrial sector's business partners but service sector businesses as well."

In the 2010 ranking, released on September 21, the top ten remained unchanged from 2009. They are: TEDA, Suzhou Industrial Park, Guangzhou Development Zone, Kunshan Development Zone, Qingdao Development Zone, Yantai Development Zone, Beijing Development Zone, Shanghai Caohejing Development Zone, Dalian Development Zone and Hangzhou Development Zone.

TEDA's mark was 693.99, about 30 points ahead of second-placed Suzhou. TEDA got the top credits for economic soundness, human resources and social responsibility and governance. TEDA was also in the top three for infrastructure capability, environmental protection and technical innovation.

Parks were ranked according to eight criteria: overall economic soundness, infrastructure capability, operational cost, human resources and social responsibility, environmental protection, technical innovation, governance, development and efficiency.

The ranking system indicates a balanced approach to China's burgeoning industrial parks, with an emphasis on their environmental and social responsibilities.
