CHENGDU, China, May 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tianyin Pharmaceutical, Co., Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: TYNP), a manufacturer and supplier of modernized traditional Chinese medicine (“TCM”) based in Chengdu, China, today announced that it has been providing space and assistance to produce medicines needed for disaster relief and donated 550,000 RMB (approximately US$78,600) worth of its products to China Red Cross after a strong earthquake hit the southwestern province of Sichuan, China.

On May 12, 2008, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake struck in Wenchuan County, Sichuan province and toppled schools, apartment buildings and factories. Thousands of people were killed or trapped in mounds of concrete, steel and earth in the country’s worst earthquake in three decades. On that same night, Dr. Guoqing Jiang, Tianyin’s Chairman and CEO, attended the Curatorial Corporation Production Conference for earthquake relief held by the Chinese Government. Meanwhile, Tianyin quickly reacted to the tragedy and donated some of its products to the affected areas starving for help. By order of the Sichuan Government, Tianyin is one of the thirty five pharmaceutical companies within Sichuan province designated to supply medicines for the relief. Medicines Tianyin provided include Benorilate granules(Arpu Shuangxin Oral Liquid), Azithromycin Dispersible Tablets, Yinqiao Shangfeng Capsules, Chuanxinlian Capsules, Qingre Jiedu Capsules, and Yinhuang Capsules. The Government is also expected to purchase additional medicines from Tianyin for the relief.

Fortunately, Chengdu was not at the epicenter. Tianyin’s headquarters and their Longquan facilities were only affected slightly and no staff was injured. On May 13, 2008, Tianyin’s management examined the production facilities and confirmed that all of the equipment was in good condition. On May 14, 2008, the Company was able to resume production and started to produce medicines that the Government ordered for the relief effort.

“I am extremely shocked and saddened by the extent of the destruction caused by this earthquake in Sichuan Province. Our company and our employees feel a profound sympathy for the people suffering from this terrible tragedy at this time. We are offering all our support to these people and their families and sincerely hope that they could rebuild their homes in the near future. Although our normal production is interrupted due to production of relief related medicines, which may impact our revenues in the short-term, we believe that we should take our social responsibilities to help the people affected by this tragedy. I also encourage our employees to join the volunteers to help the distribution of the relief materials to the people in Sichuan,” commented Dr. Guoqing Jiang, Chairman and CEO.

On another note, Tianyin recently launched a new investor-focused, interactive website. The site, http://www.tianyinpharma.com , is designed to provide investors updates and Company information.

Dr. Jiang commented, "At Tianyin we have always taken investors very seriously, talking and listening to our investors and giving them updates on our business. The new website conveys all of the relevant and important information investors will need as they search for information of Tianyin Pharmaceutical."
