BANGKOK, September 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ministry of Industry and National Food Institute (NFI), along with related agencies including the Department of Industrial Promotion and the Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion, held "Gala Dinner KORAT Cuisine" A Taste of Thai on 16 September, 2013 in the Grand Ballroom of Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok. The "Gala Dinner" was held to promote the local cuisine of Korat-the gateway to the Isan region -- and to emphasize dishes recognized by foreigners.

Authentic local Korat cuisine was served on a luxurious dining table. The dinner was created and prepared by Iron Chef Thailand. The Thai Kitchen to The World Project was officially launched, starting with the Isan region and followed by the North, South and Central regions. The project is aimed at creating a food business cluster and providing consumers with greater choice.

H.E. Suwat Liptapanlop, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Thai Kitchen to The World Project, said the "KORAT Cuisine" A Taste of Thai Gala Dinner was held as part of the Thai Kitchen to The World initiative that is intended to foster international recognition of the cuisine from all Thai regions and raise local dishes and food businesses to global standards.

The event focused on bringing in authentic local Korat flavors from delicious restaurants around the province. The chef skillfully created original Korat flavors and helped with presenting local customs, like earthenware and silk clothing, which were central to the event.

More than 200 honored guests attended the gala dinner. They included ambassadors from more than 15 countries, chefs, hotel executives, guests from the food sector and members of the press. The event aimed to support the Thai Kitchen to The World policy through the promotion of local Thai cuisine to bolster the exposure and recognition of authentic Thai food.
