The 15th China International Optoelectronic Exposition opens today featuring a fascinating look at the future of light applications

More than 3,200 local and overseas exhibitors set to showcase their latest optoelectronics technologies and products to a record-breaking audience

SHENZHEN, China, September 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 15th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) opens today and runs through Sept. 7 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. CIOE plays host to the world's largest gathering of optoelectronics vendors and buyers, and features more than 3,200 exhibitors covering a total exhibition space of 110,000 square meters, a 10 percent increase from the 2012 event.

The show consists of four concurrent expositions: Optical Communications Expo, Lasers and Infrared Applications Expo, Precision Optics Expo, and LED Tech China, and is expected to draw a record number of local and overseas visitors this year.

Vendors from Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, USA, Hong Kong and Taiwan are participating in the international pavilions. Important overseas industry organizations such as the Optics and Photonics Society of Singapore (OPSS) and the Communications & Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI) also have key participation.

A key highlight at the 2013 show is the LED Lighting Experience Hall, featuring a futuristic look at the possibilities of LED applications.
