‘Tokyo Game Show Delegation’ Opens up Students’ Minds & Visions

HONG KONG, Oct. 13 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (Cyberport) and Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited (SCEH) are jointly organizing the first PS3(TM) game production program in Hong Kong, the "Digital Content Creation Camp" (DCCC). The program provides training opportunities for young people and professionals in Hong Kong, especially targeting at game programmers, designers and producers. DCCC level 3 courses will start on November 1, 2008. Enrollment now begins.

Besides classroom study, a group of 12 DCCC students have initiated a "Tokyo Game Show Delegation" under the support of Cyberport IncuTrain Centre. The delegation took a trip on October 7 to Tokyo and visited Tokyo University of Technology, the game development headquarter of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio, and a top-notch Japanese game studio Premium Agency Inc. The objective of the delegation is to enlighten creativity on game development through different visits and sharing. According to one of the DCCC students who has joined the "Tokyo Game Show Delegation", Mr. Gabrielo Leung, "we could learn more about the digital entertainment industry in Japan and Japanese culture. Besides, it is really great to see and experience the new game software in Tokyo Game Show!"

DCCC program is an one-year training program organized into three levels. Famous game masters from Japan are invited to Hong Kong every week to teach Hong Kong young professionals on game design, game programming, visual art and game production. The course syllabus and course materials are designed by Premium Agency Inc. with regard to the generic knowledge and special skills needed on the international PlayStation(R) game platform so to equip Hong Kong young professionals to work and compete in the global digital entertainment industry, to enhance their career development, as well as to realize their creativity in digital games.
