GUIYANG, China, July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In early July, the students of the Bijie Chef Training Class, the first class of the Si Li Ji Ren Education Dream Support Program, celebrated their graduation.
Fully funded by the Si Li Ji Ren Foundation, the Bijie Chef Training Class was set up in 2013 with the aim of helping the needy students escape poverty and improve their lives through cooking skills. After studying hard for two years, the 30 students from economically challenged families in Bijie have achieved excellent results. All of them have received the graduation certificate conferred by the Guiyang New East Cuisine College and have successfully obtained employment.
At the graduation ceremony, Mr. Harry Yeung, Chairman of the Si Li Ji Ren Foundation and Senior Vice President of LKK Health Products Group (LKKHPG), said, "The Si Li Ji Ren Education Dream Support Program is an innovative public welfare project, not merely due to its methods of donation, but also because of its cultivation of the values of Si Li Ji Ren, which nurtures the sponsored students to become practitioners and disseminators of public welfare and generate greater contributions to the society."
He also extended his wishes to the 30 students, hoping that they will have a bright future with what they had learned and undertake the responsibilities of not only leading their families out of poverty, but also spreading positive energy to society. Meanwhile, the students expressed their gratitude and the determination to make greater contributions to their families and society.
In 2013, the Si Li Ji Ren Education Dream Support Program was launched by the Si Li Ji Ren Foundation, a non-public offering foundation founded with a seed fund of RMB 20 million donated by Infinitus (China) Company Ltd., a member of LKKHPG. With the collaboration among the government, colleges and the corporation, the Program subsidises students from poverty-stricken areas to study the courses and acquire the skills most needed by society, which would enable them get employed and escape poverty, and would bring hope to their families and communities.
So far, the Program has opened 10 classes in the Chinese mainland, sponsoring 520 students with donations of over RMB 8 million. The courses include cooking, hygiene care and moulding.
