The theme of the conference is:

Evolution? or Revolution?  The Next Steps in Sustainable Tissue Making.

All three companies, each with quite different environmental and sustainability profiles, will be sharing their viewpoints on how this critical subject has impacted their business and how it may affect the tissue business.

These three speakers will be among 50 world-leading experts who will give their opinions and outlook on the sustainable future of tissue making. Technology, operations, markets, customer preferences, and of course environmental viewpoints and much more will be covered in this four-day conference.

A FEW good resources

Sustainability in tissue is, to a large part, based on inputs that can be summarized in a new term that has just been introduced: the FEW resources. The acronym F-E-W stands for Fibers - Energy - Water.

These few resources are all natural resources that are generally becoming scarcer all the time and that can be, under certain circumstances, considered both controversial and sometimes conflict-inducing inputs.

About the tissue business

Tissue is a big business. Tissue products, including items like toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towels and table napkins, are among the fastest-moving Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Global sales are estimated to total a massive US$80 billion with 4% annual growth in tonnage terms. The sector comprises some of the world's very famous brands such as Kleenex, Charmin, Tempo, Bounty, Scott, Tork, Cottonelle, White Cloud, Lotus, Quilted Northern, Angel Soft and many others.

Anyone, anywhere in the world that has an interest in the tissue business should be in Barcelona next week. To register for the conference, click here.
